Christmas Brunch this Saturday

Once again, please plan on attending this Christmas Brunch this Saturday and the Catawba Country Club. The 2006 club officers will be sworn in at this brunch. It is a great way to socialize and meet everyone as well.

Republican Club's set to have a great year in 2006

During the past several months, the Young Republican's have formed a preliminary club that will soon grow into a strong organization that will help elect Republicans across this county and beyond. The Men's and Women's Clubs will kick off the 2006 election season with a great lineup of meetings that will feature candidates for office and interesting people. The Men's Forum will seek to obtain over 75 paid members in 2006 and the Women's Club will reach have over 50 members. The newly formed Young Republican's Club will seek to formally register their club with the state and have 25 members in 2006. This will truely be a wonderful year for our Clubs.

Townhall Meeting on Illegal Immigration Planned

About a month ago, I received a new newspaper called the North Carolina Conservative. This newspaper had many great articles and writers from all over the state and beyond focusing on the issues that face our state. I emailed the editor and ask what I could do to help change this "Conservative State" into a "Republican State". The editor emailed me back and asked if the Party could obtain a venue for a townhall meeting on illegal immigration. I thought it was a great idea and a hot news topic. The Republican Party of Catawba County will host an immigration townhall meeting on December 6, 2006 at CVCC. Please see the attached letter for more information.

Please note that the views expressed at this Townhall meeting are not necessarily the views of the Republican Party of Catawba County, but views of a distinguished panel provided by the North Carolina Conservative newspaper. All questions about this forum that concerns the speakers or format should will be answered by the editor of this newspaper. You can email the editor at : editor@northcarolinaconservative.com.

This meeting should help bring a better understanding to this pressing issue. America is a great place and 99% of everyone here is an immigrant. For this reason, we should all be respectful of everyone and work together to come up with common sense solutions. Solutions that protect this country from terrorists, respect the rights of legal immigrates, and stop illegal immigration.

To the Editor,

Some republicans are now starting to want a “workable, detailed, well-thought-out plan for bringing our troops home.”

Well I’ll tell you there is no such thing because it all depends on when we win the war against terrorist. You can’t leave there and leave any of the terrorist alive, if you do you’re just giving them the break they need, where they’ll come back and take out a whole city instead of a couple of skyscrapers.

Osama Bin Ladin declared war on the U.S. in 1998, calling for “the murder of any American, anywhere on earth, as the ‘individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it.” In a interview with ABC news he said ”We do not have to differentiate between military or civilian. As far as we are concerned, they are all targets.” On September 11, 2001 over 3,000 Americans were killed in New York City, have you forgotten? Go to www.catawbagop,org/blood.html and watch that.

The troops aren’t even home from Germany, Japan, or Korea yet, and people are already wanting a “detailed” plan to bring our troops home from Iraq, it all depends on when the last terrorist is killed, then you have to wait awhile to be sure he was the last one and is really dead.

Americans want everything over in 30 to 60 minutes, well its over, you lost, now go kill yourself. Oh, you don’t like that idea, well then we’d better win this war, otherwise they’ll be over here cutting your throat. Don’t start wanting our troops home now, wait until they win the war.
